Phyllis Johnson writes freelance for The Virginian-Pilot and has written five books: two of which are Just Me, 100 Monologues for Teens (which is being used by drama departments across the country) and Being Frank with Anne, a poetry book based on Anne Frank’s diary.
She has had her artwork displayed at Granby St. Gallery in Norfolk, Oak Grove Gallery in Chesapeake and Olde Town Art in Portsmouth.
Her acting experience for The Discovery Channel was food for thought while writing the suspense novel, Inkblot with bestselling author Nancy Naigle.
Phyllis has spoken on romance writing at Virginia Wesleyan College, has been on the young adult book panel at Nashville Killer Suspense Conference and on literary panels at Paul D. Camp Community College and the Christopher Newport Writers Conference. She sponsored the Western Branch High School Writing Club for ten years and loves to encourage budding writers. She writes regularly for The Virginian-Pilot, has written for The Daily Press and for national magazines including Woman’s World.
